UK Planning to Reduce International Student-Dependent Visa Numbers
It might be now or never, according to some reports from UK Immigration the UK government may plan soon to reduce the number of International Student Dependent Visas.
Reasons Behind The Announcement
One of the reasons is the rising figures for bringing dependents to the UK.
According to the year 2022, the number of students who brought their dependents were increased by 30%.
As per some statistics, approximately 137,788 study-dependent visas have been granted by the UK in 2022. Out of them, around 100,000 visas were granted to only Indian & Nigerian students’ family members.
Expected Repercussion
If the planning will be executed, first of all, the UK Government may target Master’s Degree students who are planning to complete their course in one year.
The final decision is expected to come after the new year’s report. The report may come at the end of May 2023.
Students may get diverted toward other counties like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, etc.
Advise The Students
The UK has already invited almost 600,000 overseas students and their family members. As a result, these increasing numbers are putting additional pressure on the government.
If you are planning to study in the UK and would like to go with the family, then this is the correct time to proceed ahead.
If you have started your process then complete the documentation part at the earliest so that you may get the visa outcome soon before any immigration change affects you.
The last chance to secure a student dependent visa before the student-dependent rules get revised.
